Veloris Group Limited Modern Slavery

1. Introduction

Veloris operate as wholesale distributors and engineering services of batteries and battery related products within the UK and Europe, including export of products worldwide to retail distributors.

Veloris is committed to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in all its forms. We recognise our responsibility to respect human rights and take a zero-tolerance approach to any form of slavery or forced labour within our operations and supply chains. This statement is made pursuant to Section 54 of the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015 and outlines the steps we have taken during the financial year to prevent modern slavery in our business and supply chains.

2. Our Supply Chains

Our supply chain includes the sourcing of components, transportation, warehousing, and end-user delivery. Given the complexity and global nature of supply chains, we acknowledge there is a risk of modern slavery, particularly in high-risk regions or where there is limited visibility.

3. Our Policies

We have a number of policies and procedures in place to identify and mitigate the risk of modern slavery, including:

  • Supplier Code of Conduct – requiring suppliers to uphold ethical labour standards.
  • Ethics Policy – upholds the principals of human rights
  • Whistleblowing Policy – enabling employees and third parties to report concerns confidentially.
  • Recruitment Policy – ensuring fair and transparent hiring practices.
  • Anti-Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy – setting out our zero-tolerance stance.

4. Due Diligence and Risk Management

We undertake risk assessments to identify high-risk areas in our supply chain and prioritise engagement with suppliers in those areas. As part of our due diligence measures, we screen new suppliers for ethical and legal compliance, include contract clauses that mandate adherence to modern slavery laws, and conduct regular reviews of supplier performance, including audits where appropriate.

We have procedures in place to ensure that employees’ eligibility to work status is validated in line with current legislation. Where temporary deployment of labour is required, the business only uses reputable employment agencies to source labour and an audit is undertaken to verify the practices of any new agency before accepting the provision of labour.

5. Training and Awareness

Our employees are aware of our position on modern slavery and human trafficking, those employees who deal with suppliers or are in a position of management are required to familiarise themselves with the Modern Slavery Act in more detail. We review this statement and our Business Code of Conduct policy annually; any updates are notified throughout the business. To ensure a high level of understanding, we provide training to key staff on modern slavery risks and reporting mechanisms. Employees are encouraged to be vigilant and report any concerns.
