Job description
Reporting to the Depot Manager, you will deliver a supporting role within the branch operation, to supply product to regional customers. This will be delivered through ensuring our quality process is met with regards to the product and its delivery direct to customers whilst meeting customer service expectations. The prioritisation of safe driving standards and health and safety is paramount.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Delivery of new products to customers to and ensure warranty and waste product is returned to the branch in a timely manner.
- Warehouse duties when not in the van including picking and loading.
- Supporting stock control process and accurately ensuring correct loading and delivery of goods
- Ensure good housekeeping standards are adhered to in any vehicle and the warehouse.
- Uphold standards by adhering to all policies and procedures.
- Adhering to Health and Safety requirements and good housekeeping practices.
SPECIFIC SKILLS, TASKS AND ATTITUDES
- Ability to work with others in a team and under direction.
- Robust pre-check inspection of van every day of use.
- Use of MHE to include manual pallet trucks.
- Understand and ensure correct scrap process and documentation is followed as a legal requirement
- Good communication skills both written and verbal.
- Ability to work to schedules, prioritise and multitask.
- Understanding of risk assessments, near miss reporting and spillage processes to support branches health and safety focus demonstrating clear engagement.
- Build a knowledge of our customer base and local roads to optimise logistical efficiencies.
- Possess the ability to effectively receive and integrate both positive and constructive feedback to foster personal development.
- Attend and engage positively with team briefings
- Actively participate & engage in companywide training programs to embrace continuous learning and contributing to organisational growth.
- Good personal skills that suit the requirements of the role.
- General administration of all paperwork including log sheets and signed POD’s pertaining to the role or any support functions involved in.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND PERSONAL SKILLS
- Relevant experience in a warehouse distribution environment
- Full UK driving licence within company parameters of clean
- A confident individual with experience in providing customer service face to face.
- Organised and methodical approach to managing tasks.
- Confidence to use initiative to develop problem solving and work toward continuous improvement.
- Good literacy, numeracy, and communication skills at all levels, both written and verbal
- Ability to demonstrate initiative to spot opportunities for improvement.
- Possess the ability to effectively receive and integrate both positive and constructive feedback to foster personal & professional development
- Ability to work with others in a team and under direction as well as staying motivated when working individually.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
Lights Goods Vehicle – 3.5 tonne. Monday to Friday 08:00 – 16:30 - 40 hours.
